M.Sc. Food and Nutrition

About the Course :

Master of Science in Food and Nutrition is two years of postgraduate study, consisting of 4 Semesters. Three specializations are focused on this course named Food Science & Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition and Clinical Nutrition. This course offers advanced learning in food science to give knowledge to students in the science of healthy food and nutrition. It is most sought discipline and covers wide range of areas related to Food science, Food chemistry, Nutrition, Food Microbiology, Functional foods, Dietary supplements. This syllabus in Food and Nutrition is designed to prepare students for employment in the rapidly growing food and hospitality service industry. Students will be exposed to the main aspects of food science, including safety practices, standards, purchasing, planning, preparing, storing, regulatory, quality control, Dietary interventions, Food safety and security.

Nutritionist careers focus on the relationship between food and health. Being a nutritionist means understanding the physiological ways the human body responds to food and the role that nutrients play in the treatment and prevention of disease.
Professionals in this field teach people about the nutritional value of different foods and offer advice about the kinds of foods people can eat to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Some nutritionist jobs involve creating dietary plans to manage medical conditions or achieve specific health goals.
